Scheduling Zaxon's construction schedules form an integral part of the cost estimates if required by scope. The schedule is broken down into sufficient details so that items of construction are clearly identified. This process not only generates a list of activities, duration and associated costs, but it also familiarizes the scheduler with specific details about the project. Guess work and errors are held to a minimumfor activity duration and cost. Ommissions are easily averted by comparing the total cost of scheduleacitivities with the estimated cost of the project. Both must be equal. This estimate to schedule process is increasingly utilized by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Their estimating software "M_CACES Composer Gold" comes with a scheduling interface package which allows the estimate to be imported into any of the scheduling packages such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc. Submittals and items with long lead time are identified. Allowance for holidays, weekends, and bad weather are taken into consideration together with external factors such as tenant relocation, disruption of service, etc. After the final list of activities is established, a dependency table is created and sequencing is arranged. The final reports are printed on regular 8-1/2" X 11-0" sheets of papers for ease of reproduction and distribution of management and workers in the field. |
